"If you are thinking a year ahead,
If you are thinking ten years ahead,
plant a tree.
If you are thinking one hundred years ahead, educate the people."
As an experienced educational leader, I have a passion for making a lasting difference in the lives of people.
My qualifications and varied background in education have given me the experience and expertise to help young people and adults become everything they have the potential to be. My favourite saying is: You will never be given a dream that you cannot fulfil.
Every person has unique potential, and it's my job to support individuals in uncovering what they already possess and helping them to achieve their dreams.
In addition to individual coaching, I work as a behavioural consultant. in this role, I support schools in their aims to help vulnerable young people leave education with life skills that will ensure their future success.
ABOUT MY BACKGROUND
After beginning my teaching career in Birmingham, I was appointed as the Behaviour and Inclusion Manager at The Charter School in London. This was followed by a Deputy Head and Behaviour Manager post at a Pupil Referral Unit
in SE London. My successful Behaviour Management skills and pupil attainment record earned me a secondment as Deputy Head at a failing primary school in London where I was instrumental in supporting the school to move out of Special Measures to becoming a ‘Good’ school.
My expertise in Positive Behaviour Management and Performance Coaching led to an appointment as Principal of a new alternative provision in 2013 for an Academy Trust. I also worked across several boroughs in London, training colleagues and coaching schools and colleges in Positive Behaviour for Learning, focusing on techniques, strategies and successful interventions for work with young people. In addition, I set up two very successful internal provisions within a primary school setting in my role as a consultant.
In 2015, I was appointed Head of School at a Pupil Referral Unit continuing my precedent of effective school leadership. Subsequently, I established DSM Performance Coaching and Behaviour Consultancy in 2018, as well as establishing Elevated Minds, which has a specific focus on empowering young people via The IDENTITY Project.
