I have worked for many years with young people and adults, dedicating more than 20 years to my role in education.

I have mentored, coached and trained SLT colleagues, middle leaders, class-based teaching staff and support staff; not only at my own schools but also while supporting other schools, colleges and external provisions. My work with young people has been phenomenal both within mainstream and alternative provision settings. This has included primary schools in the Borough of Southwark, where I was instrumental in significantly improving outcomes, moving from ‘special measures’ to becoming ‘good’ schools.

I work closely with parents, which I believe is essential. This has impacted significantly on their child’s attitude toward their own learning and also on self-confidence and self-esteem. My work with parents includes; Family SEAL (Social Emotional Aspects of Learning) and Positive Behaviour for Learning.

In my role as a Behaviour Consultant, I have attended an Additional Education Needs Conference for 400 delegates as a keynote speaker and run workshops on Behaviour Management, Restorative Justice/Conflict Resolution techniques.

I have spent 2 days each week for 6 weeks supporting a very challenging primary school, where a rapid improvement in behaviour and teaching and learning was required. The school had been in special measures and was due for an OFSTED inspection. The behaviour rapidly improved, and I worked closely with identified staff to improve their teaching and lesson delivery to at least a good outcome. The school was judged ‘outstanding’, and I was identified for my significant contribution to this transformation.

I have supported other schools, working with staff to raise standards of attainment, done through a focus on Positive Behaviour for Learning. We were able to establish behaviour protocols in each school and collectively, through regular discussion between myself and staff, analysed areas for further training and improvement.

I was able to lead staff in improved behaviour management skills, preparing and delivering tailored sessions on training in Positive Behaviour for Learning and contemporary behaviour management strategies for a Multi Academy Trust. The impact of this training was significant, measured through staff feedback and through formal lesson observations following the training.

My role as Behaviour Consultant has also involved supporting a further education college with a focus on Behaviour for Learning for the younger students. I coached and mentored staff on the use of Positive Behaviour Strategies, De-escalation techniques and Restorative Justice training.

I am currently completing my Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Diploma, which supports my Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Life Coaching practice, as well as upskilling my expertise in Positive Behaviour Management.
